Cambodia continued)

OKay i guess it's time for another update or else i would be back into slacking mode again which i'm already half into.

72 people from 8 diffrent nations.




The purpose of our trip to siem reap cambodia was to mingle around with this streetkids.It's super hard for us as their main purpose for them is to make a buck or two by selling their things to the tourists.

Siem reap is a small town, and it's growth is based on tourism. Many shops have been revamped into fancy restaurants or cafe's and pubs or internet outlets.

My first encounter with the street kids was rather unenjoyable. i felt really really bad. I missed the briefing early morning as i arrived late in siem reap. the noobish me really didn't know how to talk to them. They were super persistent and persuasive. Some things they said were really cute and intelligent too.they are really smart kids.

Example:

" Buy for your galfren! nice postcard! do you have a galfren!? you know why you don have one?cause you no buy from me! no money no honey!"

haha thats was pretty amusing and cute.

We really had loads of fun with them.First we invited them to this gathering we had at our guesthouse.

then one of the groups would prepare meals for everyone.on the first gathering it was thai food, then japanese food and then malaysian/singapore food.

Then we had games with them.sing songs.then some of the quiet ones would start drawing as we provided them with paper and colour pencils.some of their drawings are really good.

After the first gathering, we got really close to the kids.we would bump into them on the street and they would follow us around and talk to us.it was really fun being with them, when their not selling their things to us that is.

On the last day.while we were walking to one of the cafe's this little guy followed me.he kinda asked me to buy his books.so i was like i don't need them.sorry i can't help you all that.he kept asking me..and in the end, he actually cried.i felt extremely bad.i mean i really wish i could, but if i bought from him the others would come to me too and then what if they cry too? sigh .so i kinda just ran into the cafe.really felt super bad.not just me but some other people on our team too also experienced that.

and this another interesting one, while i was walking back towards the guesthouse.this dude, umm girlish dude came and bug me.he has been bugging me for the past few days and claims that i promise to buy from him.i didn't oh well i kept smiling at him and tried to change the topic.in the end, he got pissed.and he actually sweared at me!! ahahahahhaa it was funny though his tone.really amusing xD

oh well all in all a really great experience.i have tons of pictures but no time to upload all of them.this are just a small part of it.
